The instrument
The E 2010 Graphic Equalizer is a 2x10-stage sound filter designed for studio work and live performances. It is connected upstream of mixing consoles and amplifiers and can be used for stereo and mono operation. The control range is ± 12 dB.
Details
The equalizer works with coils manufactured by VEB Klingenthal itself. In each filter band, a coil together with a capacitor forms an LC or LRC filter circuit, which are divided into octave steps. The following frequencies can be raised or lowered by around 12 dB in the faders: 31, 63, 125, 250, 500, 1,000, 2,000, 4,000, 8,000 and 16,000 Hz. The coil lets the high frequencies through and blocks the low frequencies, while the capacitor blocks the low frequencies and lets the high frequencies through. The passive design with coils favors the noise behavior. (Source: Vermona Manual)
