EKO P 15 Ekosynth Analog Synthesizer

The instrument

Dating from 1979, the EKO P15 is an analogue which blurs the line between a preset machine and a properly controllable synthesiser.

Details

The P 15 has 15 presets (P15):  Oboe, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Reed, Fuzz Guitar, Bass Guitar, Vihuela, Panpipes, Marimba, Violin, Viola, Contra Bass. These are joined by LFO, VCF and VCA sections. The LFO is freely tweakable, while the VCF and VCA can be switched between Preset and Manual mode. The VCF has Frequency Cutoff and Resonance controls. There are two basic envelopes - one for the VCA and the other for the VCF - each with Attack and Sustain controls. The LFO has sine or square waveforms that can modulate the VCF, VCA or VCO in varying amounts using the Wah-wah, Tremolo and Vibrato Intensity sliders. The speed of the LFO can be adjusted to a rate of almost self-oscillation. Finally, there is a Glide (portamento) option. (sources: synth db, rhythmicrobot)
